One piece of fabric, 30 (!!!) different dresses. I wanted to try and see if it’s possible to build different shapes of dresses from the same fabric, and guess what: it certainly is! Using only two pins, a belt, a bra and some creativity I created 30 different dresses. Who says you need a gazillion event/party dresses in your closet? I say if you own a couple of basic, versatile pieces, you got everything you need to shine in a crowd! In my case, literally.

I was busy today, all day (!!!) working on this dress. Unfortunately, I don’t fit into it, as Denisa is way skinnier than me. If Roxana will come by tomorrow, I’ll ask her to try it on to see how it looks on a human being. Denisa still has to decide on whether she wants the flowers attached to the bottom piece of fabric, or not. What do you think: with flowers or without? Also, it has a “belt” for emphasizing the waist and a scarf with pleated detail at both ends (2row, middle picture) for colder evenings.

I think the fabric looks glam enough for the wedding (it’s not that shiny, the flash makes it seem that way), but paired with a white, warm cardigan and opaque leggings, this dress could easily be worn at, let’s say, a store opening. I really hope she likes it, because I did put a lot of effort into it!

What do you think about my first “event dress”?

It’s the easiest way to make your daily coffee cup more unique: paint it! Just get some oil colors (oil stays on porcelain) and do whatever you feel. Try not to mix warm colors (yellow, red) with the cold ones (blue, green), if you want bright colors. However, if you want to get nuances of colored gray just mix green with red (yellow with purple, orange with blue), add a bit of white, and there you have it: your own personalized cup! PS: Oil colors dry harder, so be patient.

But it’s worth the wait, isn’t it?

When I looked at this picture that my sister took at a Germna zoo, it instantly struck me: a dress!!! This season alternative fabrics are cool to use and wear, so why not have a dress that looks like sea-weed (I have no idea what it’s called). I’d totally wear the dress this way:

Excuse the heavy photoshoping. I let myself go with the flow! At least in Photoshop I can make me look 10kg thiner, with never-ending model legs, skinny arms and face.

For this latest dress I sewed today, I used the same fabric as I did for this one. However, I wanted to do something inspired from the “bondage” theme [*fetish trend hot this fall]. So I sewed 4 straps to it, which can be tied in a gazillion different ways:

First one, tied around the neck; second one, tied in a bow or left hanging (1st row); Both tied around the neck (2nd row).

Straps, left loose (1st row); or tied at the back (2nd row).

For me, versatility in fashion is very pleasing!
