Right now you can read two interviews with me on two different fashion websites. The great thing about it is that one is in Romanian and one in English, meaning more people can read them.

When I think about interviews I remember when I was in 6th grade and I had my first solo painting exhibition. The local press came and everybody started asking questions about the paintings, but what kind of artistic concept can a child in 6th grade have? They were just some paintings I worked on during the winter-holidays. Purely passion for color and painting. And quite frankly that’s what I told them reporters. So, since then, I have a weird feeling when it comes to interviews. Thank God that now-a-days I get to give them via email. It’s more conforting when you think you have time [that doesn’t mean you actually do] to think of something interesting to say.

I am glad to finally post the Diana Bobar Design - Resort 2009 collection look-book. After a bit of work, I decided that I need to do this small collection, just because I believe designing clothes is a process and the difference between the seasons is way too big to just jump from one to the other. So, before seriously working on the Spring/Summer 2009 collection, I decided to first do this small group of feminine dresses for fabulous, dreamy vacations in exotic locations. I may skip my vacation this year [because of a too busy schedule], however I’m sure you won’t!

So, why not enjoy it in one of the dresses from the DBD Resort ‘09 collection: empire-waist mini or maxi dresses, made from natural fabrics such as cotton, silk, organza, crepe, spray painted with acrylic colors and created with a lot of love!

 Ummagumma store [Calea Victoriei Nr. 122, In Gang].

Last week during my trip to Bucharest, I had to visit the Ummagumma store [Calea Victoriei Nr. 122, In Gang] and I had the most pleasant surprise ever: there were two of the dresses that I made in the store windows. How cool is that???? I was so happy to see that my dresses were on display, you can’t even imagine! And looking through the racks and racks of clothing and seeing your work there, on the hangers, it’s surreal, I tell you!

I had to take a picture of myself in one of the mirrors inside the store. If you get to Bucharest you mush visit the Ummagumma store, as you’ll find a lot of uniquely made, affordable stuff from young and established Romanian designers. You can also get Diana Bobar Design[s] at Ummagumma, so go ahead and have fun shopping!!

This is a sample dress that I made for the store. A DBD variation on the little black dress. I used 100% cotton and organza at the bust. You can get it in Ummagumma if you hurry up! Adorable accessories for adorable girls, that’s what came to mind when I browsed through Lola’s Dream Factory. I kind of felt the need to free myself from the many responsibilities I gained/asked for/got recently. Being a grown-up is far from easy and yes, I am 21 years old, fully support myself, live on my own, get no help from my parents anymore, run my own fashion business. All that equals tons of responsibility. Sometimes I wish I was a teenager again, worry-less and care-free. And that’s what I thought of when I discovered Lola’s Dream Factory! Enjoy.

‘Thank You’ to Denisa and Andreea for giving me the ‘Grafica’ award. I am so busy these days that I can’t even fully enjoy blogging, never mind receiving and sending out awards. I’m missing out on fun stuff, no?

The new Dove products: Wake Up. Go Fresh!!!

I am so happy to finally post the pictures from this project I worked on, a while ago. I actually designed and made the dresses for the promotion of the new DOVE products: Wake Up. Go Fresh! The inspiration was a symbol frequently used by the brand: the water drop. I just interpreted it my way: using fresh, bold, yellow colors, green spray-paint for abstract, fresh, minty ‘water’-drop-like details on the front part of the dresses.

I am extremely excited to actually see the promo-girls wearing the dresses on the Dove beach, in Mamaia -the best resort place at the Black See, in Romania. If you vacationed there you may have noticed them too. If you plan to go to Mamaia and see them, do take pictures with the girls and send them over, I’d gladly post them.

Summer, sun, beach, fresh, fun: makes me want to go there myself. Too bad I have so much more work, waiting to be done this week. However, I do hope you enjoy your summer vacation. Stay fresh while doing it!
