Yes, I got another pair of shoes. Yes, I told you about my latest shoe-buying problem. No, it did not stop. These are the latest peep-toe platform sandals that I accidentally got (they were on a huge sale in store that I entered by, uhm, mistake). Ok, so it was no accident that I got them, but it was one that I found them, they were just laying around, the only pair left. Seriously, I strongly believe they were waiting for me. No, I am not crazy.

Anyway, I had to wear them out and I wanted to classically wear this bold hue of red with and animal printed top. So cliche, I  know. But also, in my opinion a timeless look (animal print and red). And I felt comfortable and confident and even if the heel is pretty high (12 cm), I could dance all night without any feet-aches or problems like that.

I went out with my friends in a club, my sister was out with her friends in another club and we got home together. It’s pretty great when you have a sis about your age (3 year difference in our case) to have a great time with. Also, she is my no. 1 fan when it comes to the clothes that I make, because, of course, she gets to wear them for free. Here she wore one of the tops that I made when I first started sewing, less than one year ago. Fun!

No, I am not starting to post pictures of my daily outfits (just because I work a lot and wear sweats when working, and I don’t think that’s so interesting to look at). It is this one time, just because I’m really glad I wore the new platform sandals that I got. I bought them in a moment of weakness caused by a lot of stress last week: yes, they are a ‘feel good buy’, I’m a bit ashamed because I shouldn’t have. Oh, well! Worse things happened before. However, something that I’m finally glad to own is the ‘I Am Not A Plastic Bag’ canvas tote by Anya Hindmarch. Yes, I know it’s so last season, but I got it only recently as a present. Pretty cute!

I finally went to the theater with my BFF’s to watch ‘Sex And The City - The Movie’. Of course I loved it! As a girl, how could one not? Loved all the fashions, and the story lines. We cried and we laughed, we found ourselves in the characters or their actions; it was great entertainment. I read somewhere there were talks for a sequel. Fun!

Too bad one must return to ones daily working routine now. Yes, I do work on weekends too. Even Sunday, even if my mom constantly tells me not to (because of religion). Oh well, the reason for this post isn’t complaining, but rather this-is-what-I-wore-to-watch-’Sex And The City -The Movie’. I would have loved to wear something more dramatic, maybe a big-flower-on-the-shoulder ode to Carrie! I couldn’t get too carried away, so I chose a hot pink top, a black fitted blazer and some nude ankle boots. A bold color always works for me!

For a couple of months now, I wear mostly black clothes. It may be because I don’t feel exactly fit, as I had no time to hit the gym lately, even though summer is right here. Or, it may be because black is just so easy to wear, it’s a black canvas where you can play with strong, bold accessories all at once, without it looking too much. For instance, lately I mostly wear these adorable and incredibly comfortable sandals that I got from Coca Zaboloteanu (click here to get your own pair or maybe choose a different style). They work excellently with this purple big tote bag that I got this weekend, in which I can stuff stuff in.

Before knowing how to sew, when I used to go shopping with my friends, I used to droll after a lot of clothes I saw, that I couldn’t afford. Now I only check them out to see how they are constructed, maybe notice differences in techniques that I can try out myself, etc. My interest in buying clothes, whatever stores they may be from, is totally diminished. Why get overpriced dresses when I can make them by myself, for myself, right?

However, I started paying more and more attention to shoes, looking out to get the perfect pair of pumps. Right now, I eagerly want to own a lot of shoes, just like every girl does. And I’m not afraid to wear heels anymore, go figure! I mean, so what if I have about 2 meters when wearing high heels. So what if I’m one head above most people. The higher the altitude, the cleaner the air, right?

So, I haven’t posted many pictures of myself lately, I know. And I won’t start bragging about how busy I am. Just wanted to share a picture of this top I made right this morning, I finished it like ten minutes ago and I tried it on to see how it fit. It did fit perfectly, so now I’ll tell you it’s story. I don’t feature so many tops in my collections, I really don’t know why. Maybe because I love dresses so much and just believe that, as a designer, you have a lot more freedom when creating a dress. Anyway, so a couple of girl friends came by my place (which equals both as a sewing atelier and a show room; improvisation is key to success, right?) and they asked me to sew them a couple of simple, girlie, cotton tops they can wear casually with sneakers, or on dates with high-heels. So I though it was the easiest job ever, the didn’t want anything sophisticated, just simple and casual. But after I finished this top (that I’m wearing in the photo up) I realized it’s far from simple: it has asymmetrical pleats on that ruffle, green fabric attachments and thick elastic at the sides, even spray-paint on one of those pleats. Truth is, I couldn’t help myself; I just had to ‘quirk’ it up a bit (I don’t even know if I can say it like that, but I know you get me).

Now it’s back to making simple tops for my friends. Wish me luck. Oh, and don’t mind my messy hair. When I work I usually don’t care about how it looks. And I work most of the time.
