Welcome to my website ... and enjoy my journey inside the twisted world of Romanian fashion: from fabric choosing to pattern cutting, to the actual sewing - right now, I try to do my best in bulding my own clothing label: DIANA BOBAR DESIGN and having fun blogging the process.

DBD Dada Wedding Dress

Andreea from DadaModa got married recently and she did it wearing a dress made by my own little two hands. The story behind this dress is actually unique, as Andreea contacted me a couple of months ago about me making her wedding dress. I said ‘yes’ of course, however the thought that we couldn’t make any fittings scared me to death (as she wasn’t in Romania until a couple of days before the actual wedding). Also, she wrote about it on DadaModa several times, and her reader were excited to see the results of my work, which, of course, put even more pressure on me.

After receiving her measurements in my email about two months before starting to work on the dress, after she decided on the details of how she wanted the dress to look like (it’s actually a mix between past dresses that I made), I finally got myself together and just made it. Fortunately it fitted perfectly when she first tried it on and no alterations were needed. You can’t even imagine how excited I was to see her in the dress, as only I know how much I worked on it and only I know how nervous I was in making a wedding dress without the necessary fittings!  I also loved the bolero that I made for the dress, and the accessories complete the unique look: Lola necklace and Josephine brooch.

I am so thankful for all the trust she had in me and I wish her all the best in the world. ‘Casa de piatra’!
