No, this is not another post on the “I Am Not A Plastic Bag” bag. I just wanted to show you alternatives to buying handbags: make them yourself! I guess I am in a creative rush lately, because I seem to do/sew lots of clothes and handbags. Well, I’m having fun while spending my time in a creative way. Sitting around and just watching TV is boring to me, and always was (my classmates used to call me “weird”). Anyway, here are my new canvas handbags, made out of tiny bits of fabric that I couldn’t use for tops, but didn’t want to throw away:
I removed the metal thing, used for the first handbag, from another bag and just “recycled” it. For the second one I used a metallic headband. Funny, I know, but it worked! The third one is a clutch made out of an apron, and it’s not even sewed. It’s just tied around to look like this; if I untie it I can use it as a apron again. Clever, huh? And the last bag is actually from a plastic shopping bag I got from a store I can’t remember. I liked the design, so I just sewed it on a piece of fabric.
So easy to make your own unique handbag. You just have to try…
