It seems like I am in a mad sewing mood lately. These are the latest things I created today, out of random pieces of fabric that I found in my mom’s closet. She probably wanted to make something for herself, but now it’s too late. However she did like what I came up with today: two dresses (one that can be worn as a high waisted skirt too), a cape/top thing and a pair of black, skinny pants. Also I sprayed a hat and a clutch with silver color. More on the accessories later.
Here are the dresses:
I loved this checkered, gray fabric and felt I had to do something with pleats! I was happy that the length of the fabric was perfect to make a strapless dress out of it (because my shoulders and arms are the one thing I really adore about myself, therefor I love everything strapless). Also, I thought it was cool to wear this dress as a skirt, high waisted, with a belt chinced at the waist. Casual and comfortable.

This white fabric is actually is embroided with tiny flowers on it, but it is see-through, therefor I put a piece of red fabric underneath it, letting it show just a bit at the top to add a bit of contrast. It’s flowy and easy to wear in the summer, but I’m sure I’ll find a unique way of styling in next fall too!
I needed a pair of high-waisted, skinny pants (not jeans), so I just got a random (bigger) pair of pants from a thrift store for about 10cents and just fitted them to my body size. Very easy. I’d wear them with this “dramatic” cape thing I sewed, after being inspired by Lanvin’s fall silhouette.

Too bad I didn’t have purple fabric! See the whole Lanvin fall07 collection here.
