Editorial from Vogue China March 2008 issue; Dolce&Gabbana’s fall/winter ‘08 looks. [credit: TFS]
I am getting sick of seeing Russian inspired fashion styling, with the ‘babushka’ headwrap and the grandma dress. Sure, Russia’s economy may get more and more important for the international fashion market, however, stylists should really be more creative than this! At first, when I saw a similar editorial, it made me think of my grandmother, who does dress similar to this (minus the hot high heels and sexy stockings). Cute, why not!?! However, apparently it’s still not over, thanks to Dolce&Gabbana’s fall/winter ‘08 collection, where the styling was similarly present. Hopefully it will stop soon, at least for the following 10 years.

I don’t want to look like my grandmother. (It’s one thing to find inspiration in traditional Russian style, but to copy it completely…what were they thinking?)
this is really boring, you got that right!!!
