Diana Bobar

Welcome to my website ... and enjoy my journey inside the twisted world of Romanian fashion: from fabric choosing to pattern cutting, to the actual sewing - right now, I try to do my best in bulding my own clothing label: DIANA BOBAR DESIGN and having fun blogging the process.

Fabric Samples. Catalog. Fitting.

I was supposed to have a fashion show today, however the whole event got canceled due to a misunderstanding between the organizer of the event and the location/club-owner where the shows were supposed to take place. It would have been fun to show my spring 2009 collection there, just because of all my excited friends and family members, who were eager to attend. But as it was not up to me, there was nothing I could do. I will take this as a lesson not to attend random events, but to have my own show. Next time I’ll make sure to have it professionally organized.

Instead of going out on Friday night, I stayed in and cleaned up my workspace. I had samples in a box, form all the fabrics that I worked with until now and I sewed them on cardboard, so I can have a better look at them as a whole. I love to touch them as they are different types of fabrics. Fun fun fun!

Also, I printed the spring/summer 2009 r-t-w collection catalogs. They will have two holes on the top part, and a thick thread trough them, which will make one look like a paper shopping bag. Cute idea, right? Love how they turned out, even if having them printed cost me a small fortune. Big ‘thank you’ to my web-designer. He did a great job, like always!

I also found this collage from the fittings for the spring 2009 collection. I also have some video footage from the fittings, however I still have to edit that before posting. I’m sure it would be fun for you to watch Roro walk.

Next weekend I’ll be in Bucharest with business [more on that a bit later], hope to see you there! :)
