Diana Bobar

Welcome to my website ... and enjoy my journey inside the twisted world of Romanian fashion: from fabric choosing to pattern cutting, to the actual sewing - right now, I try to do my best in bulding my own clothing label: DIANA BOBAR DESIGN and having fun blogging the process.

I Might Have Talent

You might remember me making a gazillion dresses out of one big trash bag a while ago (see pictures here). Afterwards I bought some similar looking real fabric and decided to make the trash bag dress get real (see pictures here). Well, a couple of days ago, while browsing through the latest fall/winter 2008/9 collections, I discovered a dress at Lanvin that was rather similar to one of the trash bag dresses I made. I just thought it was pretty funny. It’s not that I say that he copied me or something, because I know that is rather impossible. It’s just comforting to see that my thoughts (fashion-wise) were similar to those of the great designer that is Alber Elbaz.

Click to read the full post and take a look at my favorite pieces from the amazingly chic Lanvin fall/winter 2008/9 collection.

  7. It’s not only possible, but entirely probable. Everything that you post here is accessible to any internet user, including Lanvin research team. And even if that’s the case with the garbage dress, then be it and be flattered. Your own dresses are very cool and innovative and if your name was Alber Elbaz, then you would have the means to beat Lanvin to it. Thanks for linking me back, btw. My email is under construction for now, but you can leave me a comment in the meantime. and… You DO have talent! -Design Bitch

  8. It very much appears like you’ve been ripped off. Your dress was in the public domain so don’t doubt that it’s possible. That’s very cool. K
