I was busy today, all day (!!!) working on this dress. Unfortunately, I don’t fit into it, as Denisa is way skinnier than me. If Roxana will come by tomorrow, I’ll ask her to try it on to see how it looks on a human being. Denisa still has to decide on whether she wants the flowers attached to the bottom piece of fabric, or not. What do you think: with flowers or without? Also, it has a “belt” for emphasizing the waist and a scarf with pleated detail at both ends (2row, middle picture) for colder evenings.
I think the fabric looks glam enough for the wedding (it’s not that shiny, the flash makes it seem that way), but paired with a white, warm cardigan and opaque leggings, this dress could easily be worn at, let’s say, a store opening. I really hope she likes it, because I did put a lot of effort into it!
What do you think about my first “event dress”?

omg!
this is simply AMAZING!!!!
i seriously wish i had that dress
its just incredible!!!
great work =]
i’m sure that you friend would looove it
wow… watch out! that dress is sizzling…
what’s it look like on?
Cool, you work fast. The flash does make it look a bit more shiny than I think it looks in real life. My Goodness, that must have been slippery to cut and sew! Where do you cut (table wise?) The stitching looks very even in the picture, you’re good at this! I can’t wait to see it on the “customer”. Pics, pics!
I think between the sheen of the fabric, the rhythm and placement of the bi color palette, and the ruched details, not to mention all the accessories you’re envisioning, the flowers (though lovely stylized) might be an overkill, and perhaps not original enough for you. I like it sleek this way, I think it looks like it needs “something” because it’s by itself on a flat surface, but once it’s 3D on Denisa, it will come alive. On the other hand, if you want to go over embellished and her personality and her frame can carry it, can you think of a different way to make it a “Diana” dress? (I’m pushing, I know, but my best design moments have been when my professors pushed me, it got me thinking) I can’t wait to see it on her! Cool, cool, cool.
PS This being very soft and slippery, do a celeb styling trick and tape up the bust area so there won’t be any Janet Jackson moments, oops! If you don’t have double stick tape, take a regular tape and make a small circle sticking the ends together with the sticky part outside. Do a few to make sure it stays put. Duct tape or any strong adhesive tape works too, the wider, the better.
I want to see it on her :D very good job!!!:*
ps:without the flowers!I like it simple :)
Definitely without the flower. The flower is nice, but it seems almost distracting from the dress. It’s absolutely stunning! I love the colors. Very excellent work!
Yup, i’d also say without flowers! And I really hope that the flash is making is very shiny because with the silky shine of the fabric and the color duo is allmost seems a bit over the top. But I can’t wait to see it on somebody to really see how it looks like.
It looks a bit ridiculous if it’s really THAT shiny, I hope it’s not…and definitely without the flower. It’ll be just too much!
Personally I loved a lot more most of the dresses you own and made yourself, the fabrics were more original and less cheap-looking…well I’m maybe too harsh, please take it light-hearted. It’s just an opinion after all!
contrats! great job!!!!!!!
excellent work, I just love your talent! :)
This piece is gorgeous. Really.
I’d like to see more of this. On me, eventually. :P
Oh, I’m for dropping the flower thing too. Maybe you could do something different with it.
Have a nice day!
I personally love it.How much?:D
Wooow, great piece, Diana, keep up the good work! Congrats and let there be many many more to come!
You’re so talented Diana, i just love the hem line of this dress and i actually love the shinyness! I think it would look really cool with opaque tights. Would love to see a pic of her wearing it. Btw your sketches rock! x x x
