I am so excited to announce that one of my paintings has been accepted for the annual autumn painting exhibit at The National Art Museum in Timisoara, Romania. This is an art exhibit where all professional painters can apply too, and also last year painting students, but only few get selected ( I feel so sorry for my classmates who have been rejected). At first, I doubted I would measure up, as the crowd that usually exhibits in these kind of museum art shows is made out of the best of the best: painters who actually sell their work internationally, for a big bunch of money. We’re talking tens of thousands of Euro here. How can I not be overwhelmed by such an opportunity?
I participated anyway, and they actually accepted one of my Self portraits. I mean, it’s not enough that every important art person in Romania will probably get to see my name, they’ll also see my face!!! Pretty cute, right? There was a time when I lost hope in my painting talent, well, I guess I was wrong. My first painting teacher, Mr. Comisarschi, will surely be proud when I’ll tell him about it. The opening of the exhibition is on 22nd December at The National Art Museum in Timisoara. See you there!
