George Enache fall 2008/2009.

It was a lot of fun at the third edition of the ‘My Grandma’s Backyard’ handmade fashion&accessories event, the weather was sunny and perfect for some Sunday shopping. The people who came are now familiar faces and it was great to meet online-made friends who live in Bucharest. I had garments from my fall 2008 collection, because the spring 2008 pieces are all sold out (I do make them by order only). Of course, I was tired because it takes 8 hours to get to Bucharest by train, and I usually travel at night, so that I don’t waist full days of work. Which means I don’t get much sleep. But eventually all that matters is the experience: positive memories and thoughts that there are stylish people with colorful personalities in Bucharest, Romania. I can’t wait for the next edition, as it gets more and more famous/press-covered.

George Enache (who is originally from Timisoara, I believe) had an interesting fashion show that started quite late (take that Marc Jacobs!). I loved the final outfit of the collection (second picture from left, bottom collage), a knit dress with cutouts at the sleeves, which was brought to life by the organizer of this great event, Gabriela. Fierce, baby!
