I met Mihaela Zvinca at a recent event in Bucharest. She is a Romanian jewellery designer and a very lovely person, even if we didn’t have time to chat so much. I noticed her chic trench coat. Must be professional hazard. See more of her work here.
Precious DBD
These are a few of the latest dresses that I made, you can find them in a 38 size at the Ummagumma store in Bucharest (Calea Victoriei 122). I wanted them to look especially pretty, feminine and elegant. I used pure silk fabric for most of them, just because of the incredible feel and flow it has. The lace is used for an extra feminine touch. I love to make pretty dresses just because I believe every girl/woman wants to look and feel pretty, right? Big thank-you to Roro for being my fab fit model once again!
For Good Causes
Right now there is a contest going on, on FLU.ro, in which you can win a look from my spring/summer 2009 ready to wear collection: a DBD dress, Coca Zaboloteanu shoes and a Josephine necklace. All you have to do is write a manifestation on consumerism and ‘fast-food’ fashion. The most voted one will win the entire look. No wonder so many readers already signed up!
The people over at Flu are also doing a great job with their auction website (Licitatii.Flu.ro) where you can bid for pretty stuff, made by passionate and talented people, with the profits going to charity. Right now there are a few bids going on for dresses from my latest collection too, so make sure to check them out here.
It always feels so good to give back!
My Pretty Clients
My fabulous looking clients in some DBD dresses.
These wedding dresses are my latest projects, I could not help myself and fitted the first one on top of my random blue blouse, Florina was visiting and took the picture. All I need now is a sweet and loving husband, right? However, I am happy for my clients and can not wait to get the pictures from their weddings and not just them being fitted on me or Roro, even though the wedding dress on Roro is quite a special one as I worked a whole lot on it, integrating those circles in the dress for it to have this shape.
It’s so exciting to make special dresses for clients who wear your work on such important days of their lives.
My Grandma’s Backyard - BackToBlack
I know where you’ll be next Saturday if you are in Bucharest (25th Oct): at the ‘My Grandma’s Backyard‘ fashion fair, celebrating one year of the now well known event. Of course I will attend with some of my designs, and I could not be happier regarding this edition’s theme: BLACK! Latest favorite color of mine regarding my personal style; it’s all I’m wearing lately, so I’m sure I’ll feel very comfortable.
So will you, if you’ll attend. You wouldn’t want to miss the chance to have your picture taken by The Face Hunter himself, Ivan, who is a special guest invited at the event. I am so excited about meeting him, who knows, maybe he’ll take my picture too [keeping my fingers crossed] while I’ll enjoy DJ Vasile’s vibes.
These are some of the dresses that I specially made for this event. You will be able to purchase them (and a few more) on Saturday. They are made in a 38 size. As they are a limited edition of dresses, if you want a certain one in your size, you will have to contact me at diana[at]sofashon.com of orders.
Hopefully I’ll see you at ‘My Grandma’s Backyard’ event this Saturday [at (Clubul) ??ranului Român, starting from 2 p.m.] and later, at my favorite Ramayana Cafe for the afterparty!
