Welcome to my website ... and enjoy my journey inside the twisted world of Romanian fashion: from fabric choosing to pattern cutting, to the actual sewing - right now, I try to do my best in bulding my own clothing label: DIANA BOBAR DESIGN and having fun blogging the process.
Paula in her long black&white silk dress; Flo and Roro in two cobalt dresses before going out last weekend. They did not talk before choosing the outfits so it was really funny when they met and saw how similar they were dressed. Of course I made and modified both dresses. :)
Claudia in a salmon pink dress and black bolero at a wedding she attended a couple of weeks ago.
While Google-ing my name I found some pics with lovely ladies wearing my designs. Jebbsie in an older dress that she got from a MGB event. Love the ripped stockings!
La Petit Lou’Lou in a light pink tutu skirt that I made for her a while ago. Love the pairing with the perfect black leather jacket!
And my sister, Flo, at the atelier, being a bit tired from working. She was a doll and right after my accident stepped in and took care of all the work. I have one more week to rest/stay in bed, meaning that next week I will hopefully start to walk again. Can not wait.
Until then I sill have some more sketches to do, so I’ll go back to work.
I am happy to be featured in an article from the latest issue of ‘Dialog Textil‘ about Romanian designers and how everybody deals with the stressful economic crisis. I am actually pretty honored to be called for interviews by journalists who work at such important magazines for the industry that I am also working in, such as ‘Dialog Textil’. It is amazing that only by working hard I got to the point where my opinion is asked for. *Blushing*
This should actually give a lot of hope to each and every one of you who start doing something they love from scratch. Thank you to Luminita Nitoiu, who wrote the article above and also to Paula Negrea, who first featured me in an article in ‘Dialog Textil’ a couple of years ago about the My Grandma’s Backyard event and who continues to support me and my fellow fash’ designers in the journey of building and developing our own brands.

I found this picture on my sister’s laptop today and could not wait any longer, I had to post it right away. It’s My sweet sis Florina, who helps a lot with the work at the atelier this month until I will get better, posing with the Pepsi banner last summer at the presentation. So adorable!
Adriana is the lovely brains behind the Rosa Clara store in Romania. This summer she invited me to the store and I got the chance to look at all those amazing wedding gowns up-close and admire all the craftsmanship details. I made this cream silk spray painted dress for her to wear for this shoot: Adrianna’s and her husband’s anniversary photo shooting. And I am glad she sent over the photos for you to enjoy! I absolutely love the first picture, so powerful, right? Could be easily used as a print ad. :)
Congratulation to them! I totally want a hug right now.
Also, R.R. before leaving for Paris fashion week in a silk cobalt dress that I made for her a while ago and Cristina wearing one of my signature fall’09 belts at the ‘Funky Belts Party’.
Andreea is the winner of a Cosmopolitan online contest and she got to be their online cover girl this month. I was very excited when the people over at Cosmo asked me to send them a couple of dresses for her to wear at the photo shoot. The chosen dress was this colorful little cocktail number from my Resort 2010 collection. She loved it a lot and she sent me the loveliest ‘Thank You’ email, so that I decided she should keep the dress.
I could not sleep last night so I played around a bit in PS and this is how I imagined the cover could look like:
If you are a graphic designer please do ignore the typography, I just used basic fonts that I found in PS. :)
And here you can watch the backstage video from the shooting:
Congratulations to the Cosmopolitan team for the great idea- to make a lovely young girl’s dream come true -, hugs to Flavia for thinking about me and hopefully next time my dress will be on the real cover. :)
Andi Popescu – Photo Shooting for TVT89’s show ‘Viata In Roz”, hosted by Marilena; model: Flavia Dani, wearing a dress that I made and a Josephine bracelet.
Next time I promise to be there too. Hopefully wearing high heels. :)
