Diana Bobar

Welcome to my website ... and enjoy my journey inside the twisted world of Romanian fashion: from fabric choosing to pattern cutting, to the actual sewing - right now, I try to do my best in bulding my own clothing label: DIANA BOBAR DESIGN and having fun blogging the process.

Have A Lovely Spring

Hope you have a lovely, sunny & great beginning of Spring.  :) Brooches from Josephine.

Memories

Me (on the left) with Coca Zaboloteanu and Mihaela Tarhuna at a fashion fair a long time ago. Found the pic on Facebook. Love it!

Work & The Joy Afterwards

Cream brocade and cobalt blue wool wrap coat with two separate waistbands made for Sonia.

Cream cropped silk jacket custom made for Simina; long gray and navy tulle skirt with elastic waistband made for Adriana.

Marina’s navy silk pleated one shoulder dress fitted on my friend Leontina. I wanted to make sure that it will fit, just because the navy silk fabric had no bit of a stretch.

Gabi at the fitting of her dresses.

The lovely soprano Esther Kretzinger (left) wearing a navy/blue dress that I made. Am so very proud right now. I am sure she put on an amazing show. You can listen to her sing on her website, here.

Ioana riding a bike with her friend, wearing a brown checkered wrap jacket with cobalt blue lining. She makes bike riding look chic, right? *Edit: if you want more info about the wicked bikes you can find it here.

Congratulations to Claudia and Nicu; she wore a white/ivory silk dress made by me. Love the roses, they perfectly matched her lip color.

I <3<3<3 love to somehow be part of so many people’s memories. Makes all the hard work worth it!

‘Manage This’ Interview

Finally had 30mins to print screen and post the Manage This interview (February 2010 no. here). Big ‘thank you‘ to Loredana Costina. I really like how the article turned out & I love her choice of a dress from my last collection to feature in the article.

And she actually finished it for my birthday earlier this month, so how’s that of a b-day present? :)

Amazing, I say.

SS2010 Collection Colors

Besides the work for the orders that I do right now, I try to squeeze in some work for the next collection –  summer 2010. I know I am one season behind with the collections, but right now it works Ok this way, as I do not go to international trade shows yet. And also, in a month when I’ll finish the collection, it will be ready for fashion shows. I have already planned one for June at the lake at Valiug, where I had the presentation for the Resort collection last summer.

Oh, and yes, for the next collection I will use navy gold painted silk with warm yellow color details. I already made all the sketches and the patterns, but there is still a lot of work to be done. Can’t wait to be at the photo shoot. Of course for this collection Florina -Josephine- will make the accessories and Coca Zaboloteanu the shoes. *EXCITED*

Orders & Work

Two custom made dresses for Gabi.

View of our workroom last week, when I finished about eight wrap jackets.

Detailed view of the wool texture and a Josephine pearl necklace.

Brown wrap jacket with a checkered lining made for a charity auction.

Pink and black&white wool coat with different waistbands.

Brown wrap jacket with a red elastic waistband and a Josephine brooch that I actually made for Florina herself.

Blue silk pleated one shoulder dress. Still needs to be painted with gold brush strokes. Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Pink tulle and black lace tutu skirt.

My friend Leontina wearing it; integrated elastic bands at the back of a dress for a better fit.

Pink taffeta white lace dress.

Checkered wool dress with green cotton fabric at the sides.

White silk dress that I custom made for Cristina. It is also fully lined with thiner silk on the inside, just because I absolutely totally love silk! It feels heavenly on the skin.

Gabriela rocking her pink tutu skirt. Loves it!

I was colorful on my birthday. Leonie looked cool in a dress, worn as a top, that I made for her, similar to the one that I wore for my expo earlier this year.

Have a stylish weekend, lovelies!
