Diana Bobar

Welcome to my website ... and enjoy my journey inside the twisted world of Romanian fashion: from fabric choosing to pattern cutting, to the actual sewing - right now, I try to do my best in bulding my own clothing label: DIANA BOBAR DESIGN and having fun blogging the process.

The Pleated Pants & More Work

I would rather go skiing right now, but I have to work this weekend. I am trying to finish a couple more orders from the long list of ‘to do work’. Because I neglected the blog this week, I decided that today was a great day to post all the client order pictures that have gathered in my ‘DB dresses’ folder.

Gabriela at the fitting for her purple dress with an embroidery waistband and (below) wearing a ruffled white and turquoise dress.

On the right, Cristina at a party wearing her DB black tutu skirt.

So, made the first pair of wickedly pleated asymmetric pants for Doriana. Working on the pattern above and the end result below.

I did put some work into making these pleated pants, started from creating the pattern from scratch, so I am glad to see Doriana wearing them so well!

Also, a gray wool skirt with an asymmetric detail at the back.

Diana’s navy silk dress was a real challenge, as the fabric used had no stretch whatsoever. And it’s quite difficult to fit such a dress tight to the body. But I absolutely love how it turned out. The bow on the shoulder is attached like a brooch and the waistband is also separate, so the dress can be worn simple or with different accessories.

Gray and cobalt blue wool wrap coat that can be worn on both sides. Made for Ioana.

The waistbands for the coat.

And so that my mother doesn’t worry about my health – I felt a bit sick a couple of days ago – here proof that I eat healthy (chicken with vegetables and cheese) . So good to be living with my sister, she cooks the most delish meals.

Hopefully mom is happy now and I can go back to work.
