Another week, another successful trip to a local thrift store. I know I keep getting more and more stuff, making my closets almost explode, but in a week I’ll move to Timisoara to go to school, so I will be able to split my clothes in half, leaving some behind at home, while probably getting more from the thrift store over there. Hey, wouldn’t you get all these pretty little things for only about 30 cents a piece? Yeah, I thought so! Anyways, this week I found: a pretty black dress with big shoulder pads for a somewhat Margiela-big-shoulders-shape inspired look, a purple jersey dress that feels so soft and is also very easy to wear, for example under a classic, black trench coat [I’d say perfect, but that happens when you talk about Burberry trench coats, not H&M;] anyway, it fits well and it’s classic, so how can I not like it?!
Also, I found an original Guy Laroche printed dress (left) [I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the tag!], which I’ll wear with a swim-wear zebra printed bra on top. Told you about printed dresses and how I started getting some: all these fashion weeks made me forget we’re actually in autumn/winter, and it can get pretty cold in Romania. I should get some fur instead, faux, of course!
See more of my thrift shopping bargains, after the jump!
A blue, satin-y, checkered dress with ruffle detail, that makes me think of sun and fun at my grandma’s village and the beautiful surroundings of the western part of Romania. A cute shift with the most amazing patchwork made me think of Chloe, a couple of seasons ago, so of course I got it!
I may have spent 30 cents on this long, high waisted skirt, but I splurged far more on a perfect nude-colored, strapless bra from Wolford. Every girl should have one, it’s a must to wear under strapless evening dresses. However, I may wear it on top of tank tops too. It’s not like it’s my first experimentation with bra’s on top of clothes (remember this Margiela inspired look?)
The black crocheted tiny tiny top will work perfectly for trying out the “bare midriff” trend that’s supposed to happen next summer (according to lots of designers’ collections), however, I’m still so and so about showing my absolutely far from worked out stomach. Loved the waist coat as it had an oriental feel to it. Will wear with men’s shirts, skinny jeans, printed scarf and fedora hat, for a oriental-masculine vibe. Last but not least I got some checkered pants, because they were gray and from H&M. I think they are men’s, but I couldn’t care less…All in all, I’m pleased with my finds.
